Adirondack Rail Trail

The Adirondack Rail Trail is a 34 mile corridor connecting Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, and Tupper Lake. Construction for section 1 & 2 from Lake Placid to Floodwood Crossing is completed.  The DEC asks that people stay off section 3 during construction during the  summer of 2025.

Floodwood Road offers great cycling opportunities  including the Floodwood Mtn loop (mostly gravel) and the rugged single track loop to Fish Creek or Rollins  Pond. Swimming opportunities abound in this area of numerous lakes.

A popular ride on Floodwood Road to Floodwood Mountain Road includes the option of a 2 hours round trip hike up Floodwood Mtn. Views extend to the High Peaks.
