This area is well known for its Paddling options, including several loops and day trips.
The Rollins Loop(4-5 hours) is a justly popular day trip beginning and ending at Floodwood Outpost and including three easy portages.
The Follensby Loop5-6 hours) begins and ends at Floodwood and includes 4 portages.
Long Pond to Hoel Pond is popular one way trip of 3-4 hours. This may be done as an out and back.
Long Pond is easily accessed from Floodwood Road by ¼ mile carry to the shore. It is with in the no motors, St Regis Canoe Wilderness. It is popular to camp at designated sites on the pond, but two day trip options include a paddle to the beach area at the NE end of the pond or include a hike up Long Pond Mtn.

Floodwood to Saranac Lake Trip—This 3 day one way trip necessitates a shuttle which can be done by bicycle utilizing the rail trail when section two is completed late in 2024. The canoe trip is about 14 hrs travel time and the bike trip would be 15 miles.
